Charne Rossouw

Head of Primary

Charne Rossouw’s journey into education began over 20 years ago and has taught in various international settings including South Africa, the UK and the UAE. Whilst completing her degree in Psychology, she pursued a Postgraduate Degree in Education which led her to obtaining a master’s degree in professional education.

With almost a decade of educational leadership experience, most of it originating from the UAE, Charne is no stranger to the experience of opening a new school as she has done so once before - playing integral role in shaping the school’s vision, values, curriculum, and community from the ground up.

In addition to her role as Head of Primary, she has held other whole school leadership responsibilities such as Teaching and Learning, staff development and Designated Safeguarding Lead. She has also been part in multiple school inspections and reviews – further developing her understanding of educational best practice which in turn has made a significant impact on whole school improvement planning and striving for excellence.

Charne is passionate about supporting and empowering educators to create engaging and purposeful learning experiences for their students, and firmly believes that the key to academic success lies in building strong relationships, valuing students' wellbeing and fostering their holistic development. She aims to advocate for a nurturing school environment where kindness and empathy flourish, cultivating a sense of community and belonging among students, staff, and parents.
Beyond school life, Charne is a mother, a musician and loves spending time outdoors with her family, which is why joining GFA is a natural, yet exciting next step for her.
